The Lunchtime Hiking Experience

I go hiking during lunchtime. Why? Because my schedule allows it and I like walking.

university schedule

As you can see, for both Monday and Tuesday, I have 2 hours of lunchtime. A thing about me is that I eat fast, so there's a lot of time left after I've finished my lunch. I could go sit in the library until the next lesson. In fact, that's what I was doing before. But that isn't so healthy. So one day, I decided to go hiking during that time instead.

And luckily enough, my university is also right next to a hill.

First Hike (2024/01/30)

For the first hike, I decided to try to walk to the next train station. Not the best weather.

These are some shots of my university.

Aaaand the road just ends suddenly because I took a wrong turn, so I headed back.

Second Hike (2024/02/05)

I basically walked the same path as last time, but took a different turn right before I hit that dead end.

I saw this roundabout, with a "warning: roundabout" sign right in front of it.

Is this a rooftop garden?

I wonder how they go home.

And I also saw this "Healthy" wrist band.

On my way back, I noticed this road branching off the main road that has a gradient of 1:8. I thought to myself, I'm gonna walk that next time.

Third Hike (2024/02/19)

I've noticed I actually got very close to the next train station last time, so this time, I decided to take the train for one stop, and just walk backwards. The path is pretty much the same as last time, so I only took a couple of photos.

This is a pigeon that didn't even care about me taking a photo of it.

Although it was a cloudy day, the temperature is relatively high. Not too pleasant for hiking.

Fourth Hike (Best one yet) (2024/02/26)

Remember in my second hike I saw that 1:8 slope? I decided to go on an adventure with that. I had no idea where it leads to.

Turns out it leads to some rich people living area.

There's also this village opposing the rich people buildings. Walking up slope a bit more reveals a reservoir.

Kept going up, and found more rich people. The road really just keeps going up.

The living environment looks really pleasant (actually why would it not?)

Finally, I was almost at the peak, and this view was just insanely cool. The weather also made this photo looks extra nice.

That concludes my lunchtime hiking experience so far. However, I'm not done! On my fourth hike when I was near the peak, I checked OpenStreetMap and it revealed that there's a path straight down to my university. So my next hike will probably be that one.
